WHITEHORSE - The Yukon Information and Privacy Commissioner (IPC), Diane McLeod-McKay, and one of her staff took part in a two-day conference focusing on privacy and security.
The conference was hosted online by the Government of British Columbia on February 4 and 5, 2021. It focused on networking and training on topics relating to privacy and security. The conference was intended to assist those responsible for the transformation of the public and private sectors into the new digital economy, in particular as COVID-19 accelerates the move to digital platforms.
The virtual conference included presentations from industry experts, information on current issues and trends, and the opportunity to ask questions, have dialogue and get answers and solutions to emerging issues.
In addition to McLeod-McKay, one of her investigator and compliance review officers attended the event. Sebastian Paauwe has a wealth of experience in privacy protection and information security. In his work at the Yukon IPC office, his focus is on information systems security.
