Yukon’s Information and Privacy Commissioner discusses the Yukon’s new ATIPPA on podcast hosted by Saskatchewan’s Information and Privacy Commissioner
Fri, Mar 11, 2022
The Yukon’s Information and Privacy Commissioner (IPC), Diane McLeod-McKay, recently joined Saskatchewan IPC Ron Kruzeniski on Un-redacted: The Sask IPC Podcast.
McLeod-McKay and Kruzeniski discussed the Yukon’s new Access to Information and Protection of Privacy Act (ATIPPA), which came into force on April 1, 2021. The discussion highlighted some of the law’s positive aspects and the challenges that the new legislation has brought to the administration of privacy and access issues in the Yukon.
“The podcast was a great opportunity to talk about our new legislation, the changes it brought and its implementation so far,” said McLeod-McKay. “It’s important to use some of the newer media and platforms, such as podcasts, to talk about and increase awareness of privacy and access issues, which are increasingly important in today’s ever-changing information and technology environment.”
