Public Interest Disclosure Commissioner takes part in conference hosted by BC Ombudsperson

The Yukon Public Interest Disclosure Commissioner, Diane McLeod-McKay, participated in a one-day conference on December 4th, held online and hosted by the British Columbia Ombudsperson, whose mandate was expanded to include whistleblower protection in 2019, under BC’s Public Interest Disclosure Act (PIDA). The annual conference was entitled Encouraging a Speak Up Culture in the Workplace. Topics included strengthening ethics in the public service, building a positive and engaging culture to “end the sound of silence” and using PIDA to support a “speak up” culture.
